Due to the importance Americans have placed on our natural and cultural history, Cultural Resource Management Services have become an integral part of the regulatory process. DESCO’s archaeologists can provide our clients with the knowledge and services needed to comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as with Native American tribal customs.
Cultural Resource Management, also known as Cultural Heritage Management, refers to managing historic places of archaeological, architectural, and historical interests and considering such places in compliance with environmental and historic preservation laws.
The following acts govern the cultural resources regulatory process:
Cultural Resource Management has traditionally been concerned with the identification, interpretation, maintenance, and preservation of significant cultural sites and physical heritage assets, which, many times, are discovered during a project that involves oil and gas exploration, urban development, large-scale agriculture, mining activity, or excavation activity.
DESCO performs all services related to cultural resource management in the most cost-effective manner, regardless of whether the project demands a single archaeologist or a whole team of qualified archaeologists to perform multifarious verification and recovery.
